So the tip here is: try to see if your SD card has been partitioned to have EXTENDED partitions or LOGICAL partitions.

Linux saved my day and now I can navigate american maps with a european Nuvi. How I found this out is when I got home and tried to manipulate some map images.
GARMIN EXPRESS DOES NOT RECOGNIZE NUVI MANUALS
Product registration Software and map updates Product manuals Vehicles, voices, and other extras Setting Up Garmin Express 1 Plug the small end of the USB cable into the port on the device. Several tools on windows like Windows' disk management tool and MiniTool's Partition Editor create nested partitions. Garmin Express provides easy access to these services for your device. I struggled for days with my Garmin and different SD cards from all brands, qualities, speeds, specs.įinally I found out that SD cards must be very strictly partitioned: you must have only 1 PRIMARY PARTITION on the card. I've rebooted the computer with no change. Any ideas? I tried to download the Mexico maps (1.25 gig) on the Nuvi internal memory but it says it is too big.hence the SD card! Can I create more space on the Nuvi, paste the Mexico maps and foget about the SD card? Thanks for your help! When I launch Garmin Express, it does not recognize the unit being connected although the face of the Nuvi shows the connection icon and I get a file explorer window that opens after I plug the unit into the computer with the files on the Garmin. My computer reads the SD card alright but the Nuvi doesn't! I also have a Nuvi350 and it can read it's SD card just fine. Hi! I have a Nuvi250 and I just bought a SD card to put Mexico maps on it.
